R. J. Barber

When my father died, Mom moved our family to Danville, Virginia to work in the day school at the Baptist Tabernacle. I was a rising senior in high school and angry about leaving behind friends and athletic opportunities. As it turned out, I came under the influence of R.J Barber who pointed me to an intimate relationship with Christ through his Word. I got something at the Tabernacle which I have never gotten over. Several years later I received a phone call from Brother Bob inviting me to serve on staff. That calls remains one of my favorite memories.
