John Rice

John Rice continued to speak at Prayer and Soulwinning Conferences well into his old age. Nearing the end of his long ministry, he sometimes could not be clearly understood. In an Ohio church on one of his last times to speak, he closed the meeting by asking the women who had children to stand for prayer, only he meant for the women who wanted children to stand. All over the large auditorium many women stood who had children, but when he began to pray for each of them to become pregnant, they quietly sat back down until only one or two remained standing.

I told wife, Carole, this morning that I was praying for God to give her more of a husband. "Oh no, Lord," she blurted out, "I don't need more husbands."
