A Different Day When
the Party’s Over: Dreaming About a Renewed Church
Last night I dreamed our community was under siege by terrorists.
Suddenly, the party was over: Recreation and entertainment lost their appeal,
raucous laughter and folly ceased, God’s name was no longer profaned, and both
saints and sinners filled the churches, not for programs and social life, but
for extended hours of confession of brokenness and need for support to
experience Christ.
